The Beast

Hi Watchman Bob: Just wondering if you've read any of Ellis Skolfield's books concerning Islam during the latter days, he makes a good case for the Dome of the Rock being the "It" that makes desolate. When a Muslim leader told a certain bishop that he was going to build the dome, that bishop quoted Daniel.

Reply from Watchman Bob: Well, I don't put much stock in what either Muslim leaders or bishops state, especially when it doesn't line up with Scripture. The Word clearly states that the treacherous "prince who is to come" will be the one who sets up the abomination that makes desolate at the midpoint of the final seven years (Daniel 9:26-27). Then, 2 Thessalonians 2:2-4 clarifies that the abomination is the "son of perdition," the "man of lawlessness" setting himself up in the Holy Place as "god." Finally, Revelation 13:5 confirms that the "beast" will be set up to rule over the earth for 42 months - the last half of the final seven years.

The only way to fully understand prophetic Scripture is to compare all related passages of Scripture, not to just latch onto some logical-sounding speculation.
