This is amazing. I just spoke on this in my pulpit this past week and did not know you took this position. I would like to know more about Ezek. 38 and 39 from your perspective. 1GodPOW@gmail.com

Messianic Israel at Final War?
by: E. K.

Will Israel be a Messianic Jewish nation at the end of the 7 years tribulation going into that great war?

Reply from Watchman Bob:

The Jews who are true Israelites (see Romans 9:6) - who believe in the God of their Fathers and look forward in faith to the coming Messiah - are already "Messianic Jews" - the scattered Messianic nation of Israel. They just do not yet recognize that the Messiah is Yahushua ("Jesus"), because they have been temporarily blinded to who He is, until all the Gentiles are saved who are going to be saved. Then, their eyes will be opened to who He is and "all Israel will be saved." (Romans 11:25-26)

In other words, all true Israelites, when they see the Messiah returning in the clouds to gather His elect at the end of the seven years, will look on the One they have pierced, repent and be saved. (See the commentary on Revelation 1:7.)

Then, after the King of kings and Lord of lords returns with the armies of Heaven to destroy His enemies at "the final war," He will gather His people Israel out of the nations back into the land and re-establish them as His re-united "Messianic Jewish nation." (See Ezekiel 37:21-22 and the commentary on Revelation chapters 19 and 20.)

Don,

I'm thankful for your interest in the Revelation Understood! commentary and website.

As I stated on the "How to Understand Bible Prophecy" page, Old Testament prophecies often have multiple fulfillments. And that's the way it will be with the Ezekiel 38 and 39 "War of Gog and Magog" prophecy in which multiple nations of the world come against Israel.

A partial fulfillment of that prophecy occurred when nations of the Middle East and North Africa came against Israel when her people returned to the Land in 1948, then attacked her again in 1967 and 1973. A more complete fulfillment will probably occur at the beginning of the Final Seven Years, at which time the armies of the nations that come against Israel will be destroyed and the anti-messiah will enact a peace treaty with Israel that he will later treacherously abolish when he at-tempts to destroy Yahuah's people (cf. Ezekiel 38:19-22; Daniel 9:27; Isaiah 28:15). Then, at the end of the Final Seven Years, the armies of many nations will come against the Messiah in Jerusalem. Then, the final War of Gog and Magog will occur when the armies of all nations gather against the Lord's People and New Jerusalem at the end of the Millennium. See the commentary on Chapters 19 and 20 for details.
